Civil Air Patrol, as the civilian Auxiliary of the U.S. Air
Force, supports Aerospace Education for two
different audiences - internal CAP members and
the general public.

In internal programs ensure that all CAP members
(seniors and cadets) have an appreciation for an
knowledge of aerospace issues.  A rigorous
educational program is tied to promotions and
advancements are every level in the CAP
organization.

Each of our cadets, when funds are available, are
eligible to  receive orientation flights in both powered and glider corporate aircraft.  They also have the
opportunity to fly participate in the Military Incentive Flight Program allowing them the opportunity to fly
various military aircraft.  Michigan has one of the most active CAP-USAF incentive flight programs in the
country.

It is also possible for cadets to attend powered, lighter-than-air, or glider flight encampments and
potentially earn their solo wings.  They are capable to continuing their education to receive their pilot's
license.  They are not allowed to fly CAP members until they become seniors, and then only with a lot of
experience and very specific training.
Thank you to the 927th ARW for your support.
CAP also plans and executes the National Congress on Aviation and
Space Education. NCASE is the premier aerospace education
conference held in the nation.  The NCASE is designed to promote an
understanding of aviation and space education to motivate and
encourage teachers to incorporate aerospace education into their
curriculum.  It also encourages aerospace leaders to speak out on
aerospace issues facing our nation today.
